Is your Girl Scout ready for a summer of adventure?

Girl Scout camps inspire curiosity, discovery, and problem-solving, all while helping campers to develop courage and teamwork skills. Not only will your camper experience activities like rock climbing, archery, boating, hiking, and off-campus excursions, they will also make new friends and memories that last a lifetime!

This camping season, we will be offering overnight and day camp options at Camp Hoffman. We'll also be offering multiple High Adventure Programs featuring new excursions off-camp, including nights spent in Maine, New Hampshire, at the Mystic Seaport Museum,  and on Prudence Island!

Big camp improvements are coming to Camp Rocky Farm! Because of this, we will not be opening Rocky Farm for summer camp in 2026. Stay tuned for future updates.

This new platform is easy to navigate and manage, but if you need help along the way, please contact CustomerCare@gssne.org or 401-331-4500 and we'll be happy to assist you!

Getting Ready For Summer Camp

You've signed up for summer camp at GSSNE already. But what's next?

Get ready for camp by checking out our Summer Camp Information Packet. This document includes things like packing lists, day camp bus information, sleeping arrangements, and other camp need-to-know information. Please review it thoroughly!

All payments must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the start of your camp session. Balances due will already include various deductions (deposit, cookie credits, and financial assistance). Final payments should be made through UltraCamp, the platform used to register. Campers will not be permitted at camp without final payment.

About Camp Hoffman
About Camp Hoffman

Founded in 1921, Camp Hoffman is one of the oldest Girl Scout camps in the country and sits on 173 acres on Larkin Pond. Generations of Girl Scouts have experienced the magic of a summer camp here!

LEARN MORE

We're Accredited

All Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England camps are proudly accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). This means that our camps comply with more than 300 industry-established standards in health, safety, and program. For more information about what accreditation means to you and your camper, visit acacamps.org/parents-families. All GSSNE camps follow ACA guidelines and state laws, in addition to Girl Scouts of the USA’s guidelines.

Registration Information

When to Register toggle arrow

Registration for our 2026 summer camp programs is now open! Be sure to register by March 11 to get 15% each session.

How to Register toggle arrow

To reserve your camper's spot today, register online. At the time of registration, a $35 non-refundable deposit or the full balance is due.

All final payments are due by the listed registration deadline (2 weeks prior) for each session. GSSNE reserves the right to cancel any registration not paid in full by the advertised registration deadline.

If you register after the registration deadline, all fees are to be paid in full upon registration.

Campers not currently registered as a Girl Scout or are a new Girl Scout are required to become a member at the current Membership fee of $55. This GSUSA membership is valid through September 30, 2026.

Cancellations, Refunds, and Transfers toggle arrow

Cancellation and refund requests must be submitted and received by the GSSNE Office two weeks before the session start date. Until the refund deadline, a full refund less the $35 deposit per person will be granted.

In the event of GSSNE canceling a camp program, families will be contacted to discuss a transfer to another program, or to receive a refund.

In all other circumstances, any monies paid (less the nonrefundable deposit) will be refunded only if:

  • The camper is placed on a waitlist or if the financial assistance amount requested is not fully granted
  • The camper cannot attend due to illness or injury. A letter from a physician must accompany a written request for refund.
  • The camper is sent home from camp due to illness or injury. Refunds are prorated in such cases and will be made only at the written request of the parent/guardian.

Please note that a refund will not be given if the camper leaves early for any other reason (including homesickness). Refunds will also not be issued due to inclement weather.

A $15 transfer fee will be applied to a camper's registration balance each time a change is made to a camper's session, program, or camp (unless the change is requested by GSSNE due to program cancelation)

Camperships/Financial Aid/Camp Scholarships toggle arrow

We believe that every child should have an opportunity to experience summer camp! Nothing should stand in the way of a summer filled with friendship, fun and new-found confidence. All girls and gender-expansive youth are welcome to attend camp without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, or socio-economic status. To that end, we are pleased to be able to offer financial assistance to allow more kids to experience Girl Scout Camp.

To apply, you must first register online for the session you'd like your camper to attend and pay the $35 deposit before your Financial Assistance will be processed. After you have registered for your chosen session(s), fill out our confidential Financial Assistance form.

If financial assistance is requested, Summer Camp Cookie Credits will be applied first. Notification of financial assistance granted will be made after cookie credits have been processed. Financial assistance is calculated after deposits and cookie credits have been deducted and is based on family income.

The deadline to submit for financial assistance is the registration deadline for the chosen camp program.

We recommend contacting GSSNE as soon as possible regarding financial assistance since our funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Financial aid applications are evaluated on a rolling basis as long as funds are available.

GSSNE financial assistance for camp is available only to campers living in the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England community.

We are grateful to the generosity of individuals, civic organizations, and foundations that allow us to make camp scholarships available for children who, without this assistance, would not be able to attend Girl Scout camp.

If you have any questions, please contact 401-331-4500 or 800-331-0149 or email at CustomerCare@gssne.org.

Summer Camp Cookie Credits toggle arrow

Girl Scout Cookies can power an amazing adventure!

  • Camp Cookie Credits expire on September 30, 2026.
  • Credits may be pooled by sisters in the same family.  (If transferring, the Camp Cookie Credit Transfer form must be completed)
  • Credits are non-transferable and may only be used by the Girl Scout who earned them (outside of families).
  • Credits may be applied only toward GSSNE summer camps.
  • Credits cannot be used for family camping, troop camping, events, or other GSSNE programs.
  • Girl Scout troops that have selected opt-out proceeds are not eligible to give or receive Camp Cookie Credits.

Health & Wellness

Health & Wellness Agreement toggle arrow

If a camper is experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms they will not be permitted to attend camp unless a doctor's note is provided. If a camper becomes ill or injured, or if any other concerns arise while at camp, parents/guardians may be asked to pick up camper and have them evaluated by a health care professional.

COVID-19 toggle arrow

GSSNE is continually updating its COVID-19 protocols to meet guidelines set by the CDC, state guidelines, and the American Camp Association suggestions.

Behavioral, Medical, and Dietary Concerns and Restrictions toggle arrow

If there are any behavioral (ADHD/ADD, ASD, etc.), medical (including mental health), or dietary concerns for your registered camper, a parent/guardian should contact the Camp Director at least 2 weeks prior to the camp session starting. If your child requires support in school, special treatments, injections, is immune compromised, has mobility limitations (i.e. cast, crutches, or wheelchair) or any other special issues please contact customercare@gssne.org to discuss a potential support plan with a staff member. Some scenarios will require a doctor's note.

Behavior Agreement toggle arrow

At GSSNE, we strive to create a caring and supportive community. We want all participants to feel safe, welcomed, and accepted. Following and abiding by the rules and guidelines ensures a memorable experience for all. Campers are expected to respect themselves and others. Inappropriate behavior negatively affects everyone and can compromise safety. Since the experience at camp passes quickly we try to deal with behavior by setting clear expectations. Everyone will hear the rules which include: respect the staff and respect others in the group. In addition to these rules, many groups create their own group contract, which outlines the behavior expected by group members. The group creates this themselves and signs their name acknowledging that they will abide by their contract. If a participant breaks the rules, a staff member will speak with the participant and work with them to correct their behavior. We use a series of consequences for any behavior that has gone beyond acceptable limits. This consequence structure, combined with positive reinforcement, is designed to put behavior decisions in the child’s hands. It is meant to give a camper plenty of chances to make good decisions. The goal is to change negative behavior in order to prevent anyone from not being able to participate in camp activities. If a camper is excused from camp based on behavior, a parent/guardian or other authorized adult is required to pick up their camper within a 2-hour time frame.

FAQ

Check out some of our most frequently asked questions about camp below!

What’s happening with GSSNE camps this summer? toggle arrow

Our summer camp programming has always been focused on building social and physical skills, strengthening confidence, and helping campers to find their voice, and in today’s society, these things are more important than ever. This camping season, we will be offering both overnight and day camp options at Camp Hoffman. Our programs will focus on building strong interpersonal connections with others, becoming an integral part of a community, and developing new skills Girl Scouts will carry with them throughout their lifetime. All of our programs will offer our traditional camp activities like archery, hiking, swimming and boating, campfires and smores, and so much more, with an added twist based on the theme you register for. If you are joining us for day camp, don’t forget about the optional Thursday night campout!

Big camp improvements are coming to Camp Rocky Farm! Becuase of this, we will not be opening Rocky Farm for summer camp in 2026. Stay tuned for future updates.

Is there a printed camp guide this year? toggle arrow

You may be used to receiving a more traditional summer camp program guide in previous years, but in an effort to use resources wisely, and to keep programming current and accessible, we’re moving to a one-stop-shop approach to signing up for camp on our website, allowing you to register with the click of a button! If you'd prefer to view our programs in a printed format, check out our shortened summer camp guide!

Do you have maps of camp? toggle arrow

In 2024 we worked with a cartographer to create a new, geographically accurate maps of Camp Hoffman!

  • Full camp and trail map in full color
  • Full camp and trail map in black and white
  • Main buildings close-up in full color
  • Main buildings close-up in black and white
  • Combined document with full map and main buildings in full color
What activities can my camper participate in at camp? toggle arrow

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities while they are at camp, including swimming, boating, archery, ropes courses, rock climbing, and more. These activities are tailored to their ages and abilities. Please note that some activities may be restricted by age per Girl Scouts of the USA’s safety guidelines. To view which activities are allowed within each age group, please see the Safety Activity Checkpoints.

Please note that the ability to run activities may be affected by the weather, state water testing, availability of staff, etc. If programming needs to be altered campers still receive an exciting program that fulfills badge and program requirements and closely matches original programming.

Does my Girl Scout have the chance to earn badges while at camp? toggle arrow

Yes! All of our camp programs are designed with Girl Scout badges in mind. All campers will have completed at least one badge by the end of each camp session. All badges will be available for pick up in the camp trading post or at the GSSNE council shop.

If your Girl Scout has already earned the designated badge with their troop or individually, there are always camp fun patches for purchase in the camp trading post or at the GSSNE council shop.

Here are the badges that Girl Scouts can earn based on the camp program they participate in:

What are Margaret Ferris Beads? toggle arrow

Margaret Ferris Beads represent a camper’s achievement in learning outdoor skills. Each bead color corresponds to a specific skill area, such as fire building, Leave No Trace principles, orienteering, and more. Campers may earn these beads each time they attend camp, with skill expectations increasing as campers grow older and gain experience.

Purple – Participation
Campers earn this bead after attempting an outdoor skill but not earning a bead, or by attempting an outdoor skill multiple times.

Black – Primitive Camping
Primitive camping is an optional one-night experience where campers participate in a rustic camp setting. Campers will sleep under the stars in the open air or in a tent.

White – Orienteering
Campers will demonstrate proficiency in using a compass and/or map.

Blue – Toolkit
Campers will demonstrate proficiency using camp tools and will create a final project showcasing their skills. Toolkits may include jackknives, saws, and axes based on campers’ age and ability. Younger campers may earn this bead through soap carving.

Green – Nature & Leave No Trace
Campers will learn about nature and Leave No Trace principles. Many campers will also complete a service project on camp to earn this bead.

Yellow – Knot Tying
Campers will demonstrate proficiency in tying various knots. Additional knots are required as campers get older.

Red – One-Match Fire
Campers will learn to build, light, and maintain a fire using only one match.

Is camp an option for older Girl Scouts too? toggle arrow

Yes! We offer several leadership opportunities and older camper programs at our summer camps.

Who can attend GSSNE's camps? toggle arrow

Any girl or gender-expansive youth entering grades K to 12! If you’re new to Girl Scouts, or curious about what Girl Scouts is all about, now is a great time to experience the magic of Girl Scouts!

Will there be a bus option for camp? toggle arrow

Yes! The day camp experience begins with songs, laughter, and meeting new friends on the bus! If you wish to use the bus, sign up for your preferred bus stop location when you register for camp and check out the schedule on our Day Camp page.

NOTE: Due to normal morning and afternoon traffic, our buses are occasionally delayed! Please plan to be available for a 30-minute window during both your bus stop drop-off and pick-up times. Any adults picking up a camper will be required to show a photo ID.

What makes Girl Scout Summer Counselors different than other counselors? toggle arrow

What is one of the things kids like most about Girl Scout camp? The counselors! Many of our counselors come back year after year, their love of the outdoors and “all things Girl Scout” makes for a fun summer! And all counselors are put through extensive training which includes:

  • Understanding safety considerations in a camping environment, operating procedures, and competencies required for program activities
  • Age-appropriate behavior management and camper supervision techniques that create a physically and emotionally safe environment
  • Trained in performance and conduct, including sexual harassment policies
  • Recognition and prevention in reporting of child abuse
  • Emergency procedures
