As a volunteer organization, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England has a volunteer Board of Directors composed of community leaders and professionals. The combined expertise of these community members provides leadership to the council by establishing the policies and bylaws that guide us.
These governance volunteers have the responsibility of strategic planning, fund development, financial oversight, appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and are Girl Scout ambassadors to our council. They are chosen by the Board Development Committee and elected by the voting members of the council each year at our Annual Meeting.
For the 2025-2027 term, GSSNE is looking to fill two (2) Board of Directors positions. To learn more and nominate yourself or someone you know, check out the nomination form.
GSSNE elects National Council Session delegates for a three-year term to represent our council at the National Council Session held by Girl Scouts of the USA. This is the national business meeting where delegates from every council across the nation and USA Girl Scouts Overseas meet to discuss, debate, and vote on issues important to the Girl Scout Movement, and elect national leaders for the next triennium.
