It's no secret that Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character. Therefore, we are often contacted by scholarship-giving entities asking us to publicize scholarship opportunities for girls in our council—and our young alums.
Girl Scouts of the USA keeps a long list of scholarships available to Girl Scouts.
Locally, most information sent to GSSNE focuses on opportunities for girls who live in Rhode Island, but the Community Foundation of Southeastern MA administers a long list of scholarships for girls in Massachusetts.
East Greenwich Rotary Scholarship Fund
Two scholarships ($2,000 and $1,000) are awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who:
- Have been active members of Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts at some time during their school years.
- Live in East Greenwich or a contiguous community, or have been a member of a scouting unit in one of these communities.
- Will enroll in an institute of higher learning (college, tech program, etc.) in the fall following graduation.
- Submit an essay for evaluation by the East Greenwich Rotary Scholarship Fund
