Camp Hoffman

Camp Hoffman is located at 2850 Ministerial Road in West Kingston, RI. The camp is situated on the shores of Larkin Pond and is known for its beautiful pine groves, open meadows, a historical cemetery, many hiking trails, and a deluxe high ropes challenge course! Campers have the opportunity to participate in swimming and boating, hiking, archery, singing and making smores around a campfire, and exploring nature. Located on the same property, Camp Hoffman is the site of our overnight camp programs and Camp Green Forest is the site of one of our day camp programs. Campers during the summer have the opportunity to visit the camp Trading Post—our Girl Scout Shop at camp!

There’s also nothing like celebrating Thanksgiving at the Wellville lodge at Camp Hoffman. A large kitchen, an enormous fireplace, and a rustic, cozy dining room means your family can enjoy being together in a new setting—plenty of room for large families. There’s even room for everybody to sleep if you want to make it a weekend! Other facilities are also available at Camp Hoffman, including our spacious and well-equipped Barbara W. French Dining Hall, the location of several weddings.

Camp Hoffman is also the location of The Sarah Hazard Nomer Museum. Opened in 1990 in the House-by-the-Side-of-the-Road, this museum is a place for visitors to learn about the beginnings of Girl Scouting in Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts.

In 2024 we worked with a cartographer to create a new, geographically accurate maps of Camp Hoffman!

This camp is home to the beautiful Elms Lodge, which features a large fireplace, a kitchen, showers, and plenty of bunks for sleeping. The lodge at Camp Rocky Farm has been the host of many holiday dinners for families too large to fit at any one person’s house! It’s also a great place for corporate retreats and is within walking distance of Ocean Drive and the Newport Mansions, and Gooseberry Beach where visitors can enjoy a swim in the Atlantic Ocean. During the summer, campers have the opportunity to participate in hiking, archery, climbing the rock wall and bouldering wall, singing and making smores around the campfire, and experiencing nature.
